Chido Marian Hove is a Partner in DMH's Commercial and Financial Services Group, with 16 years of legal experience. She was admitted into partnership in 2020 in recognition of her expertise and contribution to the Firm's corporate and commercial practice.

Chido advises local, regional, and international clients on complex commercial transactions, with particular expertise in energy and infrastructure projects, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, mining, banking and finance, competition law, intellectual property, data protection and corporate advisory. She has been involved in significant infrastructure, energy, and financial services transactions, acting for investors, lenders, developers, multilateral institutions, and public sector entities.

Her practice includes the development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, public-private partnerships, joint ventures, project development agreements and other strategic commercial arrangements. She advises on project structuring, regulatory requirements, concession arrangements, power purchase agreements, security documentation and other key project agreements. She has also advised on major renewable energy and mining projects, including solar photovoltaic developments and large-scale power generation projects.

Chido has extensive experience in corporate and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, corporate restructuring, competition law and regulatory compliance. She also advises businesses on data protection and privacy compliance, including compliance with Zimbabwe's data protection framework, data governance obligations, regulatory requirements, and the incorporation of appropriate data protection provisions into commercial arrangements.

She has undertaken significant advisory work in the public sector and infrastructure space, including advising on climate finance initiatives, major energy infrastructure developments, road infrastructure and tolling projects and public-private partnerships. She has also participated in World Bank-funded advisory work concerning the legal and policy framework governing major regional infrastructure institutions.

Beyond transactional practice, Chido has been appointed as an Independent Consultant to the Office of the President and Cabinet to conduct annual performance evaluations of Chief Executive Officers and Board Chairpersons of State Enterprises and Parastatals. Her multidisciplinary experience enables her to provide strategic, commercially focused advice on complex transactions involving energy, infrastructure, mining, finance, and corporate regulation.
